What is universal basic income (UBI)?
A universal basic income guarantees a certain amount of money to every Canadian citizen – no strings attached. This would improve our economy, make us physically and mentally healthier, increase entrepreneurship and volunteerism, and strengthen communities across the nation.
Basic income is not a fad or a niche idea. It is a necessary part of a future economy that serves humanity first and unleashes our true human potential. Join us on September 19th and show your support for a basic income in Canada!
Countless UBI pilots have shown that it is good for the economy and it’s good for our health. In fact, we already have a basic income in Canada – the Canada Child Benefit (CCB), and IT WORKS. A recent report shows that it generated $139B in economic growth, created 453K jobs, kept hundreds of thousands of families out of poverty, and grew the middle class. Imagine what a basic income for all Canadian citizens would do!
